The goal was to modernize this midcentury classic, while honouring the original home.
This 1956 bungalow was built to last, constructed of brick from the basement all the way up. This made for a solid home but also created logistical and financial challenges for certain renovation goals, i.e. relocating electrical and changing window locations
The house had a single attached garage on the left side that was converted into the current kitchen and dining room. Apart from creating a dream kitchen, Bella Vista also added an extra 3 foot to the front of the house, 1 and a half bathrooms on the main floor, a walk-in closet to the second bedroom, office space and many family-friendly features so that the overall home became an extremely personalized midcentury design that is an open-concept, design-driven, child-friendly home with an easy flow from the kitchen, dining, patio and office space near the living room and an impressive master bedroom.
